After releasing her song, "Love Over Living", Elaine Kristal continued to apply pressure as she released her single, "Sweet Escape." It premiered on July 1, 2022.
With production that reminds you of a mix of drill and late-90s/early-2000s R&B, NYC multihyphenated artist Elaine Kristal sings about trying to find a piece of peace with a lover. The song is about trying to find someone to bring you that peace and take you away from your surroundings, even if it’s only for a fleeting moment.
It is evident in the lyrics where she said:
"Surrounded by the everyday shit / Routine been feeling way too basic / I been thinking it’s time we switch up the playlist / Expand horizons to different places /
So when I go / Will I see you there by my side? / We can cross roads / Or live in the air if you wanna fly"
Be my / Can you be my sweet escape? / We could take a trip to space / It’ll give us the time / To find a peace of mind"
Throughout the music video, she wants to forget her problems and spends the rest of the day with someone who makes her happy. The visuals depicted how her partner is her "Sweet Escape" from her basic routine.
I love the music video. It depicted a journey of love with someone special. It has an infectious beat from start to finish that fit perfectly with her singing vocals. Therefore, I rate the track 10/10.
