Ammara Brown has released a track titled Glow in the Dark on 3 August 2020.
Ever since black Americans has taken a stand against racism due to the death of George Floyd, Zimbabwean has also taken a stand against human rights abuse, corruption e.t.c. How? Through the hashtag on Twitter, "ZimbabweanLivesMatter". The track was released in light of the issues faced in Zimbabwe. As stated by the website, iharare, "The movement was sparked by the human rights abuse by the state security agents which include the arrest of journalists and activists,threats,abductions and torture, beatings of civilians".
From my point of view, the track has a significant meaning in the sense that it's making reference to the social injustice in Zimbabwe. Moreover, it's seems to inspire others to move forward despite the challenges they face. Ammara Brown has stated that this track is an inspiration gift of peace on Instagram:
"...Humanity should be afforded to us all. In a time when we pass judgment based on our skin or status,it is of paramount importance that we not only remember our Ubuntu but LIVE it. Zimbabwe,world,there will always be someone who believe they can strip you of your humanity. The truth is that you glow from the inside, forever. The video is an inspirational gift of peace from me to you".
Ammara Brown seems to highlight the challengesatmosphere she has faced as an artist. This is shown on the lyrics :

Despite those challenges,it didn't take away her shine as an artist. Therefore, "Glow in the Dark" is about not letting circumstances define who we are. No matter the challenges people face, they will always 'Glow in the Dark'.
The sound in the background seems to not have any instrumental music. Therefore, it brings out her singing voice perfectly. It brings out the message she is sending to everyone which is probably to have hope. There is a calm atmosphere hence putting everyone's minds at ease especially Zimbabweans.
The title of the track, "Glow in the Dark" is about the importance of humanity that should be afforded to us all. With everything that's happening in Zimbabwe, Anmara Brown is one of the artists who have taken a stand against human rights abuse. Moreover, the track was released in order to give Zimbabweans hope that everything will work out.
