Unenharo by Taf, Ty-Note, and Edilia has a unique effect.

Updated: Jul 1, 2023

Taf, Ty-Note, and Edilia released the " Unenharo " single on 8 January 2021. It is an Amapiano-infused track. There are various ways in which the single has a unique effect. What is the meaning behind the title, “Unenharo”? Unenharo is a Shona word that means being hard-headed. In some cases, one can associate being hard-headed with something negative. However, this track has a hidden meaning behind it.

According to Edilia, Unenharo explores two sides of a tale and allows the listener to decide if it is so bad kunzi unenharo (being hard-headed). To understand what the song is about, one needs to explore more about the song lyrics. For instance, the artist Ty-Note seems to believe that being hard-headed is a bad thing. For example, he said :

“Musiye musiye akadaro

Anofunga kuti anenharo

Ramangwana rake harina mufaro

Kana adzidza haazodaro “

In this case, it means:

“Leave her alone

She thinks she has an argument

Her future is bleak

If she learns, she will not do it"

The way it seems, the lyrics can have one meaning. Ty-Note might be representing people who always have an opinion on someone else's life whether someone asked them or not. With his strong vocal arrangement in this track, he has presented this point perfectly. For instance, he emphasizes the word, "adzidza" in a low voice to prove his point that she will learn her lesson.

Edilia on the other hand refuses to leave by someone else's expectations. Instead, she decides it doesn’t matter whether people think she’s hard-headed. For example, she said :

“Ndisiye ndisiye ndakadaro

Ndini wacho anenharo

Ramangwana rangu rizere nemufaro

Kana ndapedza hamuzodaro”

Which means:

“Leave me alone

I'm the strong-willed one

My future is full of happiness

When I finish you won't do it”

The music stops to give Edilia the attention she deserves with her soprano talent. In this track, she has realized the importance of living her life the way she wants to, not because of what other people think. From my perspective, the meaning behind this track is living life for you, not for others. Therefore, that is why the song has a unique effect.

Lastly, the track wouldn’t have an Amapiano-infused track without Taf, the producer. The song is addictive. The beat has showcased the two tales perfectly, making this track a banger hence why it has a unique effect.
