Sylvia Bremer released a single titled Not Okay on Friday, September 25th, 2020. As stated by a press release provided by Meikhel Philogene, "...The song focuses on the miscommunication in a relationship and the distance it creates..". Therefore, the song is about the challenges faced in a relationship which is miscommunication.

Moreover, the press release also states that" 'Not Okay' details how partners can be in the same bed and feel like strangers because neither of them understands how the other one is feeling, so it's just argument after argument". This is why in the lyrics there are sentences such as, "You and I don't seem to get along" and "Because everything I do for you is wrong.

The track was probably released to highlight the challenges faced in a romantic relationship. It is probably why the track has "powerful euphonious vocals mixed with the rhythmic, up-tempo beat makes for the perfect remedy for the 2020 blues". This was stated in the press release provided by Meikhel Philogene. The beat of the track seems to make the song intense in the sense that it brings out the conflict between Sylvia and her lover. It shows that in every relationship, there is bound to be misunderstandings which is communication. Therefore, the track shows the importance of communication in a relationship.

In a nutshell, the track, "Not Okay" is about Sylvia who is not okay in the relationship because of the constant disagreements. Sylvia Bremer probably released the track to show that sometimes there are problems in the relationship not because of lies and cheating. A relationship can become strained through miscommunication, so it is important to communicate with your loved one.
