"Holy Water" single by James Qupid reveals a sense of hope

James Qupid released a single titled, "Holy Water" on Friday , June 19th 2020. He is part of a record label called M.E.I Recordings. There is a reason why the single reveals a sense of hope.

James Qupid unveils his new single, "Holy Water." "Holy Water" was created during the quarantine while James Qupid was in deep thought reflecting on the state of our new norm and the pandemic. He began to cook up a new beat while humming the melody of the chorus. He started playing his keyboard, then a kick and snare later, "Holy Water," was conceived. 

Growing up singing in the church choir, James Qupid developed a strong spiritual background. His Gospel and R&B roots run deep and that inspires him musically. "Holy Water" is a reflection of his upbringing. The song's fun and vibrant sound was created to uplift and encourage everyone. "During these difficult times, I wanted to create a song that exudes healing," James Qupid explains. 

"Holy Water" blends Hip-Hop and R&B with beefy drums and 808 bass. Ironically, James Qupid linked up with music producer Bless to create this symbol of spiritual enlightenment. "Holy Water" is a lively summer bop that will make every listeners' playlist. 

Since the song is about uplifting and encouraging everyone, it explains why on the lyrics,James Qupid said:

"All this holy water on me

I feel like i can finally see

It feels like its a brand new me

All this holy water on me"

From my point of view, I believe that the song is about him reflecting on his life. Although there is the Covid 19 pandemic, he looks at it as a blessing to probably improve his music. When he said , "All this holy water on me", I believe he meant God has blessed him to continue making music which uplifts everyone. Since Qupid grew up singing in a church choir , he is letting everyone know that God is with them during this pandemic. Just like him who looks at this situation as a blessing, he wants everyone to look at it as a blessing as well.

Moreover, the beat is consistent throughout the song. This was probably his way of saying I will continue making music hence why he said on the song, "I'm not afraid of change" and "Look how far I came".
