DAR.RA presents faith and uniqueness in, "Rise Like the Sun."

Updated: Jun 25, 2023

DAR.RA released the track, Rise Like the Sun on 29 September 2020. Critics praised the track as, the 'number 1 lockdown release'-

Top Hitz Music. Furthermore, critics say it is 'the Rock anthem that Prince would have written if he still graced this world - Music Mirror (Danielle Holian). DAR.RA seems to be making moves in the music industry because his single is unique. After all, he is likened to Prince. He was regarded as one of the greatest musicians of his generation (Wikipedia).

Another point which shows that this track is unique is the genre itself. It is a blend of rock and soul mixed with rabid dance vibes. Furthermore, it has an irresistible fretless style bass and a Latin dance combination impact. It perfectly emphasises the hook-filled guitar line (Danielle Holian). Therefore, it is unique because it has three genres, rock, soul and dance. Danielle Holian even stated that it has a plenty lot of flavour. In other words, it is intriguing.

What is the song solely about? DAR.RA said, "When you've been put down since birth and walked the road of broken dreams, and nearly drowned in your tears. Comes a time when the chains of self-doubt must be cut for us to Rise Like The Sun." (Danielle Holian). There are several ways which reveal why the track presents faith. DAR.RA seems to be reminiscing on the times when he felt like giving up. However, instead of feeling sorry for himself, he decides to 'rise like the sun.' In other words, he probably wants to achieve his goals no matter what. Therefore, that is why the song presents faith.

The song lyrics itself present an element of faith. For instance, DAR.RA said,

'Rise like the sun / And shine every day of my life.'

Furthermore, he said,

'If I live to tell the tale / I will kiss the dawn as it comes / Pray that I x 3 / Rise Like the Sun'

The way it seems DAR.RA seems to be a good lyricist who wants to ''rise like the sun' no matter what. He seems to declare that he won't let challenges stop him from succeeding. It seems to be a good track to uplift people's spirits, especially during this Covid19 pandemic. The track is for his forthcoming album, with the working title of, Welcome Comrade.

In a nutshell, DAR.RA is a talented musician because he has been praised by most critics. The beat is also unique and catchy yet to some extent, it doesn't showcase his voice enough compared to his other song, 'Start Again' on Youtube. However, this track is interesting so I would rate it around 8/10.
