Le BAHO is afraid to admit his feelings in "Window"

On June 4, 2021, Le BAHO released his single, Window. Le BAHO (twenty-six-year-old Bastien Horisberger) is a newcomer to the music scene but is already making waves amongst his growing fan base on social media. The new single is his first official release and embodies his chilled summer style.

Window is a catchy soul-pop tune. It is about the struggle to open up and share feelings in relationships. Moreover, it is about the tendency to shut down and close off communication as soon as emotions are discussed - despite wanting to deepen the connection. In the lyrics, he said:

"I’m like a window, / Shut my feelings when the wind blows, / We just tryna be the same folks, / Isn’t it silly ?"

He compares his hidden feelings to a closed window. He is probably afraid that if he decides to admit his feelings, he will end up getting hurt. Perhaps in his previous relationship, he got heartbroken. Yet, at the same time, he knows it is silly because they are in a relationship. He knows he should trust his partner because a relationship is about trust and commitment. Therefore, this track is relatable, especially to everyone heartbroken from their previous relationships.

His smooth vocals carry across an instrumental track that entwines saxophone with guitar and percussion. However, electronic effects create that chilled beach night feels. Le BAHO’s vocals are warm and soulful, with efficient runs and a range only achieved by natural talent and years of singing experience.

I love the message behind the track because anyone can relate to the struggle of sharing their feelings. Vocals were intriguing to listen to from start to finish. I also appreciate that he compared his hidden feelings to a closed window. It shows the extent of his willingness to hide his feelings no matter what. My only issue is that I could not hear some parts of his lyrics in the first verse. Nonetheless, I liked the track. Therefore, I rate the song 8.5/10.
